Since the age of 15, Billy has been writing original instrumental music.

As a writer, Billy has a running column in the bi-monthly "Dutch the magazine". He has written 4 feature length screenplays, New Amsterdam: the musical , about the Dutch foundation of NYC and 20 episodes of the travel show "Let's Go Dutch". 

Primarily a bass player, Billy was dubbed the "upside down mirror wizard" back in 1983 because he plays lefty but with the strings upside down. Mostly self-taught on guitar and completely self-taught on bass and piano, Billy's musicality shines through no matter what instrument he plays.
